Wimbledon 2023 Day 4 Predictions
If you’re new to tennis betting (but be wary when placing bets that you cannot afford to lose), here are a few helpful betting tips before placing bets at Wimbledon. Center Court
Casper Ruud (4) vs Liam Broady
Ruud faces stiff competition against Broady from Brit Liam in their fourth matchup of the tournament. Ruud has expressed distaste for grass, yet still managed to outwit Lokoli in their opening round encounter. Broady however is more comfortable on grass, displaying his skill against Lestienne straight-sets victory with ease and British crowd support backing him to take set one if needed; I expect Ruud however will do enough to take victory here too! Matchstat.com employs an advanced machine learning algorithm for soccer and tennis that delivers highly accurate predictions.
Prediction – Ruud to win in 4 sets
Elena Rybakina (3) vs Alize Cornet
Rybakina rebounded from an initial slow start against Shelby Rogers to win in three sets. Now she faces Alize Cornet – she was victorious against Iga Swiatek’s unbeaten streak of 37 matches in last tournament in the third round – who always presents an overwhelming threat on this court and The History Press | A miscellaneous history of Wimbledon can easily overcome Ryabkina with ease. But Rybakina is focused on being her best tennis player and will have no difficulty defeating Cornet. For all your soccer and tennis prediction needs, matchstat.com has your back!
Prediction – Rybakina to win in 2 sets
Stefanos Tsitsipas (5) vs Andy Murray
Stefanos will return to the court less than 24 hours later to take on two-time Wimbledon winner Andy Murray. Last night, Stefanos finished his marathon match against Dominic Thiem of Australia, taking five sets before winning on set tie break. Thiem has struggled on grass courts over the past year and Tsitsipas was impressive in advancing through five sets against him to get through to victory; given Murray is in fine form he must play at his peak to beat Tsitsipas; Murray performed beautifully against Ryan Peniston of Ryan Peniston from his home country and looks forward to challenging him later. Matchstat.com provides detailed statistics for teams, players and leagues – specialising in head-to-head matches between soccer players or tennis teams.
Prediction – Murray to win in 5 sets
Court 1
Alexander Zverev (19) vs Gijs Brouwer
Zverev can finally begin his 2023 Wimbledon tournament after it was delayed due to heavy rainfall yesterday. He made the semifinals at Halle last month before almost defeating Bublik in Halle’s semi-finals; therefore he’s well prepared to give an excellent performance against Gijs Brouwer who recently earned his first major draw at Wimbledon by winning three matches within one week and should find it easy enough to beat him in their match up tomorrow at Wimbledon.
Prediction – Zverev to win in three sets
Donna Vekic (20) vs Sloane Stephens
Donna Vekic will aim to maintain her winning ways in 2023 by upstaging 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens. Stephens made it as far as Wimbledon quarter-finals ten years ago but has failed to advance past round three since. Although Stephens can beat any player on any surface, grass has historically been her weakest surface; in comparison with Vekic who has performed consistently throughout her season and may be more suitable than an American for such conditions; for her to overthrow Vekic would require a significant win from Stephens to surpass her.
Prediction – Vekic to win in 2 sets
Jessica Pegula (4) vs Cristina Bucsa
Pegula had to get her hands dirty to beat Lauren Davis in three sets in three. Busca, on the other hand, managed to defeat Rakhimova 11-9 in a last set tiebreak matchup in round one. Although grass may not be Pegula’s ideal surface for playing, she remains one of the top-ranked players and could triumph.
Prediction – Pegula to win in 2 sets
Matches to watch
Elise Mertens (28) vs Elina Svitolina
This match has been rescheduled due to yesterday’s rain.
Elise Mertens will face Elina Svitolina for an intriguing 28th seed matchup. Svitolina defeated Venus Williams in her opening round matchup while Mertens beat Viktoria Kuzmova. Both have grass court experience – Mertens reaching fourth round both times she played (2019 and 2022) while Svitolina advanced all the way to semi finals in 2019. This one should prove extremely captivating.
Prediction – Svitolina to win in 3 sets
Daniil Medvedev (3) vs Adrian Mannarino
Medvedev faced an extremely challenging three-set battle with British world champion Arthur Fery in the opening round. Mannarino hopes to make a comeback since he twice defeated Medvedev on grass court. Expect some scrappy tennis but Medvedev should survive another day.
Prediction – Medvedev to win in 4 sets
Marie Bouzkova (32) vs Anett Kontaveit
World no.2 Kontaveit will compete in her final tournament of her professional career and hopes that her form can carry forward against 32-seed Bouzkova – I believe the Estonian will give everything she has, but believe she will come out victorious!
Prediction – Kontaveit to win in 3 sets
Belina Bencic (14) vs Danielle Collins
Prior to this event, Bencic and Collins hadn’t played since losing in the opening round of the French Open. With no prior matchplay experience between them, this match may go either way; I give a slight edge to Bencic due to her past successes on grass courts; however, it wouldn’t surprise me if Collins claimed victory as well.
Prediction – Bencic to win in 3 sets
Barbora Krejcikova (10) vs Mira Andreeva
16 year-old Andreeva has had an incredible start at All England Club, winning four matches consecutively and beating Xiyu Wang in a three-set match, before facing Krejcikova for her final encounter at Wimbledon. Krejcikova proved too formidable an opponent for Andreeva to handle as her game all-round proved too much for Andreeva to handle.
Prediction – Krejcikova to win in 2 sets
